The Dusty Disciple
Where our dust
meets His firm foundation
We are created in God’s good image
We can encounter the Living God
We Are because of Who He Is
We build altars to help remember God’s faithfulness
These altars are not about human perfection
Our altars can stand as a light to others
What God has done for me He can do for you
Core Values
The Rock and the Resin
All the resin pieces have been made with dirt taken from the red rocks of Sedona Arizona. Sedona is often a special place to pilgrimage and feel close to God through the nature and beauty. The dirt itself is not a god but a reminder of the closeness of the Creator.

Let's face it... life is tough and we so easily forget something we needed..... When things are hard we need reminders to show us there is more then just the dark.
I like to explore. I developed the habit of taking a small memento, a stone, photo, leaf, or flower from different states or places I visited.
I would see my silly little collection taking up space. Rolling the pebble from the beach or stone from the mountain between my fingers I could close my eyes and would recall the memories, feelings and lessons from that place.
In the Old Testament, altars were made by individuals in places to mark where they encountered God. The Dusty Disciple is here to give form helping people in their process of building their altar.

Reflections & Resin
Exploring the intersection of faith and mental health through the lens of art and journaling.

When creating something out of dirt and rock it must be first gathered, studied, sifted and crushed.
Many times in my life I had felt crushed under the weight of my burdens and wounds not believeing that anyone would want or desire to make anything beautiful out of me.
Now as a creator I see things much differently. When I am making a smooth resin pour I look for things that can be crushed and become very small. There are times I need bigger peices but even then I need to crush and shape it.
Things in my life that I thought were crushed that it was impossible to find all the peices and make any kind of repair were actually desired by God to ceate something new.
